Our Story
With more than 32 years of experience in sales, sales management, entrepreneurship, and business development, I have built and led successful businesses across the automotive, real estate, construction, insurance, and digital marketing industries. Throughout my career, my passion has been helping people, solving problems, and creating opportunities that strengthen individuals, families, businesses, and communities.
Today, I serve as the co-founder of We Love Costa Rica, Max Velocity Media, Genesis Capital Investments, and Genesis Great Adventure Camps. These organizations share a common mission—to inspire faith, leadership, service, adventure, and community while making a lasting difference in the lives of others.
Hi friends! My name is Karina, I am Costa Rican and raised in Heredia, city of flowers. I have an amazing daughter who is also my partner in life. I have a large extended family, who live in many areas of Costa Rica. We are Tico and love being a part of Costa Rica. I love nature and am so blessed to have been born in such a country as Costa Rica.
I am an Environmental Manager and have worked in the corporate world for many years. However, I realized that the corporate world was not for me. With time, much thought and prayer I discovered being an entrepreneur was my true calling. I knew it was not going to be easy and that I would face many obstacles, but I kept on pursuing my passion for Costa Rica and the Costa Rican people. This risk taking led me to help found We Love Costa Rica.org
The love for my country makes me want to share it with the world and to make a living out of something. What better way to do it than inviting people to live their lives to the fullest by coming to this beautiful country to detox and have a healthier, happier life for their families.
Hi, I’m Andrew Thompson. My wife is Costa Rican, and for more than ten years I’ve spent much of my time living, traveling, and serving throughout Costa Rica. During that time, I’ve embraced the Pura Vida lifestyle and discovered a deeper appreciation for faith, family, community, and living with purpose.
Raised by adoptive parents who were college professors from the Greatest Generation, I learned the value of hard work, integrity, and service at an early age. As a teenager, I worked on farms before becoming a certified gas and diesel mechanic specializing in domestic and foreign vehicles. My passion for automobiles eventually led me to own and operate my own auto repair and auto sales business.
Later, I transitioned into new home sales and sales management before owning and managing a custom home building and property management company. Each step of my journey has reinforced a simple mission that continues to guide my life today: Help People. Solve Problems.
