Our Story

We are an entrepreneurial family business born in response to the needs we see around us and the love of Costa Rica. We believe it is our responsibility to nurture and protect the people and environment of Costa Rica. Being humanitarian and environmental driven, our professional and educational backgrounds led us to develop our passions into a business that could give back to Costa Rica. We keep this in the forefront of our planning as we develop communities, build new homes or remodel existing homes.  It is a family endeavor and we feel that new families should be part of our Costa Rica community.

Hi friends! My name is Karina, I am Costa Rican and raised in Heredia, city of flowers. I have an amazing daughter who is also my partner in life. I have a large extended family, who live in many areas of Costa Rica. We are Tico and love being a part of Costa Rica. I love nature and am so blessed to have been born in such a country as Costa Rica.

I am an Environmental Manager and have worked in the corporate world for many years.  However, I realized that the corporate world was not for me. With time, much thought and prayer I discovered being an entrepreneur was my true calling. I knew it was not going to be easy and that I would face many obstacles, but I kept on pursuing my passion for Costa Rica and the Costa Rican people. This risk taking led me to help found We Love Costa Rica.org

The love for my country makes me want to share it with the world and to make a living out of something. What better way to do it than inviting people to live their lives to the fullest by coming to this beautiful country to detox and have a healthier, happier life for their families.

Hello, my name is Andrew Thompson, my wife is Costa Rican, I have been living in and traveling to Costa Rica for over eight years now. I came to Costa Rica eight years ago seeking a simpler life and to escape the trap of the rat race that most of us fall into.

My parents were college professors, who were raised during the great depression, they insisted I work from a young age. They taught me so many valuable lessons that only those of the greatest generation could pass along. As a teenager I worked on farms and was fascinated with machinery.  I became a certified line mechanic, diesel mechanic and foreign auto mechanic. I transitioned into automotive sales, finance management and general management. I then opened my own auto sales and service facility. During the 90’s housing boom I moved into new home sales and new home sales management.

This led to owning a custom homebuilding and remodeling company. We also had a decent sized property management division. During the pandemic we closed our company and searched for business models that would allow us to work remotely.  What seemed bad turned out to be a blessing. In my 35 years of working with the public I have discovered that most people are not living their passions. At the age of fifty I wanted to live the things I had been passionate about in my youth. Traveling, exploring, discovery, tasting new foods, immersing myself in new cultures. I wanted to have a Great Adventure. Thankfully my diverse career choices as well as my love of reading, I have read close to 1,000 books, helped me to transition into this new life. Now I am living in Pura Vida while still using the skills and abilities I learned during my career in the automotive and homebuilding industries. We invite you to come and explore all that Costa Rica has to offer. Let us help you with your vacation, short term rentals, buying or building a new home, vacation investments and or managing your property in Costa Rica. We look forward to meeting you and your family. Pura Vida
