Costa Rica’s culture

is generally as the rest of Latinamerica, of course, every latin country has its own special traits and in our case it is the Pura Vida.

The tico is a happy person loves to laugh and mocking about anything, it is also friendly if you need help mostlikely someone will be glad to assist you.

We love to eat we have a very creole food based on granes, protein and vegetables, mainly, you would have for breakfast gallo pinto (a mix of rice and beans), meat or sausage, eggs, cheese, sour cream, tortilla or white bread. Ticos eat mostly a casado (White rice, beans, protein, salad and vegetables) or a soup for lunch, we also love coffee time eventhough you don’t drink coffee you can have a tea or a freshly squeezed lemon juice or any other natural juice there is we drink it with bread, empanadas, tortillas or sweet bread. And for dinner, it is a very personal family choice some eat a little lighter, others may have a casado for dinner.

Most ticos appreciate the country we were born as we contribute to a good percetange of the tourism in CR, we are tourist in our own country, we have to be, there is so much to know and discover, to learn and relate, to stay in touch with our roots as many families have migrated within the country for several reasons so we come and we are from a lot of places.

Costa Rica is highly influenced by the afrocaribbean culture, the diverse indigenous groups, the Pampa Guanacasteca a mix of all cultures and the colonial influence converge to create what a ticos are.
